Do you support someone living with a mental illness?

The NSW Mental Health Commission invites families and carers of those living with a mental illness to attend a one-day workshop event in Sydney. We will focus on ways you can make your voice heard where it counts most – whether that’s in individual care decisions or shaping the way organisations respond to carer needs.

A number of topics will be introduced for discussion and feedback by forum participants. These include

  • Privacy and participation in care
  • Your rights under the Mental Health Act
  • The NDIS and how it affects you
  • Self care and support for carers: Making it happen.

There will be opportunities for you to send video messages to key professionals and to actively contribute to finding solutions that will make the life of all mental health carers easier and more rewarding.

Lunch will be provided.

If traveling to Sydney is difficult for you, please let us know via the registration form. We may be able to help via a travel subsidy.

This consultation is part of a carer-led project being undertaken by for the Mental Health Commission of NSW.

The event presentations will also be available via Facebook Live on the day at: https://www.facebook.com/mhcnsw/
