The solution to suicide does not lie just with individuals but with whole communities. The responsibility for suicide prevention extends beyond mental health services. All tiers of government, Primary Health Networks, community managed organisations, people with lived experience of attempted suicide and suicide bereavement and interested and motivated community members all work towards improving community wellbeing and preventing suicide.
The Mental Health Commission of NSW is developing The Strategic Framework for Suicide Prevention in NSW which will build on current and past work at the State and Commonwealth level.
As part of our planning, the Commission will hold an open community forum in Wagga Wagga, to agree on actions to improve existing efforts in suicide prevention and drive a coordinated response.

Venue: Mantra Pavilion Hotel, 22-30 Kincaid St, Wagga Wagga.
In the morning, we would like to focus on the Aboriginal community and in the afternoon, we will focus on the broader community. Lunch will be provided for all.
