IIMHL Exchange 2017 Sydney NSW Mental Health Commission
29 July 2016

The Commission is proud to be hosting the next International Initiative For Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL) Exchange in Sydney early next year.

The forums draw around 450 international delegates together every 16 months to exchange knowledge and new ideas in mental health leadership. Australia, New Zealand, Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland the USA and Sweden are the core IIMHL partners, but participants from many other countries are also expected. The event leads off with two days of ‘matches’ hosted by organisations across Australia and New Zealand. The 30 or so matches bring together people with shared interests to discuss an issue in detail and generate innovative ideas and solutions. The match events are followed by a two-day forum in Sydney which brings together and amplifies the ideas generated at the matches. An international keynote speaker will be among a number of well-respected sector leaders to take the podium.

Match dates: February 27 and 28,  2017
Welcome events: March 1, 2017
IIMHL Exchange: March 2 and 3, 2017

At the same time the International Initiative for Disability Leadership (IIDL) will be held in parallel. Given this opportunity, some of the matches are noted as being open to registrants of both Exchanges to foster learning and knowledge exchange.

Registrations for the matches (also known as Themes) and the Exchange are open on the IIMHL website.

Your organisation must be a member before you can register, but membership is free and can be procured through the site.

NSW Minister for Mental Health, Pru Goward announced that Sydney would host the 2017 IIMHL Leadership Exchange in September 2015.
